Clipdex helps you keep useful cards from supported public short videos and build shopping lists. The data used depends on your app version and the features enabled.
Your collection and account
Clipdex does not require your name, email address, phone number, contacts or precise location for its core features. A random workspace identifier connects your saved cards, notes, shopping list and processing requests. Free/Pro versions also create a pseudonymous Clipdex account and keep the private session credential in secure device storage on iOS and Android. A recovery code restores that account and collection. Keep it secret; do not send recovery codes or session credentials to support.
Video processing
When you submit a supported public video link, the server may acquire its public video and caption and send selected content to OpenRouter and the configured Alibaba AI provider to generate a card. Saved cards, source links, processing records and usage accounting are stored on our server. Private or restricted videos may not be available. Demo/fixture builds use sample data and do not analyze the video.
Purchases and subscriptions
When subscriptions are enabled, Apple or Google handles the checkout. RevenueCat receives the pseudonymous Clipdex user ID and store purchase/subscription information to verify access, restore purchases and provide subscription analytics. Our server checks the subscription status and records analysis allowances. Clipdex does not receive your payment-card details. You manage or cancel subscriptions in your store account.
Product measurement
When product measurement is enabled, our server records app opens, views of the Pro screen, purchase/restore attempts, successful saves and verified Pro access. These records use a hash of the workspace identifier, the platform, event and UTC date/time; they do not include video URLs, card contents or payment credentials. The hash is pseudonymous and can still be associated with the Clipdex account. Event detail is kept in a rolling 90-day window; older event rows are removed when new events are processed. We use the records to measure activation, retention and subscription use. We do not use advertising identifiers or combine this activity with other companies' data for advertising.
A separate first-party activity counter records the random workspace identifier and calendar day to count active workspaces. It has no automatic expiry and is separate from the optional product-event collection above. It does not measure installations or activity in other companies' apps.
Retention and deletion
Collection, processing and subscription-accounting records have no general automatic expiry. In-app deletion of a card removes it from the active collection. In versions with Free/Pro accounts, the Pro screen also offers deletion of the entire Clipdex account and its private collection, shopping data, credentials, workspace links and associated activity records from the active database. Deleted credentials cannot restore that account. A minimal hash-only receipt confirms a repeated deletion request for 24 hours and is then removed by housekeeping. Uninstalling does not erase server records or cancel a store subscription.
Account deletion does not cancel Apple/Google subscriptions or erase store/RevenueCat transaction records. Manage your subscription in the store. Shared public-source and processing/cost records may remain without your workspace association. Restricted recovery backups may contain older records and currently have no automatic expiry; restoring a backup over newer user writes, including deletions, is prohibited. Service providers: OpenRouter, the configured Alibaba AI provider, RevenueCat, and the Apple/Google store used for your purchase. We do not send saved card content to RevenueCat.
